My work is born from the tension between beauty and violence, shaped by memory, observation and the human condition.
I use color as a weapon and texture as a voice to confront what society prefers to ignore.
Through what I define as spontaneous realism, a fusion between realism and abstraction, I create compositions that seduce at first glance and disturb upon reflection. My paintings explore themes of morality, collective psychology, and the fragile structures that sustain our idea of peace.
Beauty, illusion,
innocence and hope.
A delicate facade.
Violence, fear,
power, oppression and fragility.
The hidden truth.
Consciousness, life
and transformation.
The path to evolution.
Absence, denial,
what we ignore.
The space we avoid.
Art has been part of Theo Marmolejo’s family for generations. Painting became his way to explore identity, memory and human emotion.
Inspired by the realities of Colombia and Ecuador, his work explores the tension between beauty and violence, revealing how hope can exist in the middle of conflict.
Having painted across the United States, Asia and Europe, Theo developed a global perspective reflected in his style of spontaneous realism, a fusion between realism and abstraction.
